Amazing Turnaround: cause for celebration
July 5th 2011 04:38
Brett Prebble has previously been known to get excited by a feature race win: a celebratory wave of whip and standing tall in the irons.
But seldom would he show such emotion from winning a minor event: in this case a lowly class 4 event at Sha Tin.
Amazing Journey, a 7 year old veteran by Black Minnaloushe, was recently transferred to Australian expatriate trainer David Hall. At his first start for the new stable the brown gelding made a mockery of his series of unplaced runs in season 2010/2011 and turned his last 3 failures of 13th, 14th, and 11th, into a 2 3/4 length winning performance (at 20/1) in The 18 Districts Cup Handicap over 1400 metres at Sha Tin.
Judging from these photographs by Woody Leung there can be no doubt that Brett Prebble enjoyed the conjuring trick of creating success from a history of failure. An unexpected win. Priceless.
