Military Move: finally a winner in Hong Kong

It's taken a long time, but finally the New Zealand Derby winner of 2010, Military Move, broke through for his first win in Hong Kong when winning the Egret Handicap over 1650 metres at Sha Tin.

In his second season in Hong Kong - and after 9 tries - John Moore switched the disappointing Volksraad gelding to the All Weather track and met with immediate success.
Trainer John Moore was more relieved by the result than exultant or excited. The stable hopes that Military Move can get back to something like the performances he displayed in New Zealand, but it is with fingers-crossed rather than much confidence with which they push forward.
Darren Beadman rode a double on the program and was also successful on Sky Mascot (below) in an earlier race.
