A Frank assessment of jockeys

Frank is back!
The third instalment of Frank Rodrick's look at racing through the eyes of a novice has been published on Thoroughbreds Worldwide. This time Frank focusses on jockeys.
His journey of jockey discovery begins below (I won't give too much away...except to say that from his tongue-in-cheek opening paragraph you can expect to find a Road to Damascus/Del Mar transformation):
Jockeys.
I don’t get this hero-worship of jockeys. They have the easiest job in the world. They only work two minutes a day, and for this they receive fame, fortune and adulation. Hell, two minutes a day is stretching it--usually a race takes more like a minute-forty-five.
read the rest of the story, full of photographs, whips and quips, on Thoroughbreds Worldwide.
