Today I have the pleasure of publishing the first of a series of photographs from the talented Hong Kong based photographer, Woody Leung.
Howard Cheng on The Prince (blue blinkers) gains the measure of Eagle Regiment close to the line at Sha Tin

Hong Kong is perhaps the most energised thoroughbred racing precinct in the world. The crowds large in number, and very loud in voice and enthusiasm.
Hong Kong has become a racing home of first option for many great jockeys and trainers of the world. Australia and New Zealand have typically supplied much of the racing stock, with champions such as Sacred Kingdom being sourced from Australia.
At Sha Tin last Sunday Woody captured an exciting finish to Race 2, the Samsung Handicap over 1000 metres. The Prince - an Australian bred 3 year old gelding by Flying Spur out of Miss Mocha - defeated Eagle Regiment (O Doleuze) by half a length.
Howard (Y T) Cheng was the winning jockey. Howard Cheng has been twice Champion Apprentice in Hong Kong, winning the title in 1999/2000, and again in 2000/2001.
