Koonoomoo: finally first
December 1st 2011 05:12
When your first three starts are on metropolitan tracks - and each time you are beaten by less than a length - you would not think that it would take until start number eleven, at a provincial track, to finally break your maiden status.
The 4 year old Dubleo mare, Koonoomoo, finally won a race for her connections when she ran out a winner by 1.5 lengths in a Mornington Maiden over 1005 metres on the 29th of November. Ridden by Daniel Schmitt, the bay mare started (naturally) favourite at $1.85.
