Leading Melbourne trainer, Peter Moody, only had one starter at last Monday's meeting at Pakenham. The three year old bay filly, Silky Skills (Charge Forward - Silklike) was having her second run after a fourth placing last December over 1000 metres at Moe.
Silky Skills started favourite at $1.80 in the first race on the programme, the Devine Homes 3YO fillies Maiden Plate over 1008 metres. Nicely ridden by talented jockey, Linda Meech, Silky Skills battled it out down the straight with second placegetter, Leg Room. Silky Skills proved the stronger and drew away to score a convincing one length win.
