Most successful jockey at last Friday's meeting on the sand track at Macau was W. L. (Peter) Ho. Ho scored a double, winning the first two races on the card.
In the first race, Ho rode the 7yo Black Hawk- Belle Uno gelding called Bianco Luci, trained by K.C. Chong. After staying out of trouble toward the rear of the field, Ho pulled out wide in the straight and finished hard down the centre of the track. Casual And Elegant on the inside looked home for all money within metres of the line but Bianco Luci flew by to score by a short head.
In the next race, Ho rode the P.C.Kan/K.C.Tse trained, Fighting Kite. Ho positioned the Dubai Destination - Our Sharapova gelding beautifully behind the bolting pacemaker, 100/1 shot, Whitney. Ho steered Fighting Kite through on the rail to deny the long shot Woodney a shock win. Fighting Kite scored by a half a length on the line.
