Lucky Owners

The 3 year old colt, Masquerader, was the first Australian stakes-winner for star Hong Kong stallion, Lucky Owners.
Masquerader won on debut - then jumped straight into Group company to win the Group 2 Todman Stakes ($A300,000 - 1200 metres) at Rosehill in March of 2010. After spelling he resumed for the Spring, contesting Group events in Sydney, resulting in a series of unlucky performances. Trainer David Payne added blinkers to the colt’s gear before coming to Melbourne for an assault on the prestigious Group 1 Caulfield Guineas ($A1,008,000 - 1600 metres) at Caulfield in October. Masquerader put in a sterling performance to finish 3rd behind the Peter Moody trainer Anacheeva. The future looks bright for this talented colt.
