Seeking Chi won the Evergreen Turf Handicap held over 1612 metres at Mornington, on Monday. The 4yo bay mare was sired by Victoria Derby winner Benicio out of dam Questamatic.
Seeking Chi raced successfully in Tasmania, notching up three wins there before transferring to Victoria in early 2011 under trainer Anthony Freedman. She scored her first win in Victoria at Cranbourne in April, then ran a creditable fourth at Flemington before spelling and beginning her current campaign with a first up third over 1400 metres at Sale on October 26.
Punters showed confidence in her form and sent her out a $4 favourite at Mornington. Jockey Daniel Moor gave Seeking Chi a nice run to just get home by a neck from Naringaling ridden by Ibrahim Gundogdu.
