This was the first success for the US bred 3 year old - by War Front - from his three starts in Hong Kong, although at his previous two starts he had little luck. Although a very disappointing tally of just 19 wins for the season for trainer David Ferraris, the win by Sweet Orange, and the emergence of exciting sprint Bear Hero, give him great optimism for the future. Bear Hero is now confirmed as coming to Melbourne in the spring to try and capture the Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes.
For winning jockey Weichong Marwing it will be his last ride in Hong Kong for some time. Marwing did not re-apply for a licence and is returning to South Africa where he wants to help his 19 year old son Wesley as he begins to establish himself in a career as a jockey, following in his father’s footsteps.
